How to play Wrecked

One phone, one host, 2 to 16 players. Nobody has to learn rules up front: the cards explain themselves.

The short version

  1. Add 2 to 16 players.
  2. Pick a mode (what the cards are about) and a vibe (how the night plays).
  3. The host draws a card and reads it out loud.
  4. The group plays the card; the host taps who drinks.
  5. Tap Next Round. Every 5 cards, a mid-game event hits.
  6. Tap End whenever you're done. Everyone gets a verdict.

1. Setup

Open the app and add everyone's name. The phone stays with one person, the host, who reads the cards out loud. Pick a mode: Standard for most parties, Relaxed for a quieter night, Debate for groups who like to argue. Then pick a vibe, which changes how often each card type comes up and how long timers run. Balanced is the default.

2. Read the card, play it

Every round, the host draws a card and reads it out. The card names who it targets and says exactly what happens:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Hot Seat

Mia: What's the most embarrassing thing saved on your phone right now? Answer honestly or drink 2.

Mia
๐Ÿบ Standard

Wrecked picks the targets, and it gives more cards to players who have drunk less than the table average, so nobody is safe for long and nobody is picked on all night.

3. Tap who drinks

Under the card is a row of player bubbles. The host taps a bubble once per drink; holding a bubble resets it. The button shows the total ("Next Round ยท ๐Ÿบ 3"), and the app keeps a running tally for the whole game.

Wrecked game screen: a card, the TAP WHO DRINKS row of player bubbles, and the Next Round button.

The 8 card types

All 1,872 cards are one of these:

  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ Hot Seat: One player, one question, the whole table judging the answer.
  • ๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Vote & Roast: Everyone points at once. The most-voted player drinks.
  • ๐Ÿค Alliance / Betrayal: Team up, trust someone, and find out if they sell you out.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‘ King's Rule: A new rule that sticks. Up to four stack at once.
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Challenge: Timed dares with a countdown. Fail and you drink.
  • ๐ŸŽฒ Chaos: The whole table gets hit. Nobody is safe.
  • ๐Ÿƒ Wild: Game-changers: immunity, double down, dealer's choice.
  • ๐Ÿ™… Never Have I Ever: Done it? Drink. Everyone finds out.

King's Rules

A King's Rule card creates a rule that stays in play after the card is gone, like a forbidden word or drinking with your pinky out. Active rules are pinned to the top of the screen, up to four at once. Break a rule and you drink.

Mid-game events

Every 5 cards, one of 12 events interrupts the game:

  • ๐Ÿ”„ Plot Twist: A random player gets to assign 3 drinks however they want. Chaos ensues.
  • ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Amnesty Round: All persistent King's Rules are wiped.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฏ Double Trouble: Next 2 rounds, every targeted card is played twice with new targets.
  • ๐Ÿ”ฆ Spotlight: One random player enters the spotlight, they become the target of the next 3 cards. No hiding.
  • โšก Power Shift: The player with the fewest drinks becomes the target of the next 2 cards. No escape.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฅ Wrecking Ball: The player with the most drinks gets to redistribute 5 drinks however they want. Revenge time.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‘ Golden Rule: The person holding the phone reads 3 rule options aloud, group votes verbally, winning rule activates.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Bodyguard: One player becomes the bodyguard for another. Any drinks the VIP would receive go to the bodyguard instead.
  • ๐ŸŽฐ Russian Roulette: Each player pulls the trigger. One unlucky player drinks 5. Everyone else walks free.
  • ๐Ÿคซ Confession Booth: A random player must answer a truth question honestly, or drink 3.
  • โš”๏ธ Nemesis: Two players are linked, whenever one drinks, the other drinks too.
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Tax Collector: Everyone pays 1 drink to the pot. A random player collects it all and assigns the drinks however they want.

Ending the game

Tap End whenever the night is done. Every player gets a verdict based on how their game actually went, from 20 possible titles such as The Snake, The Anarchist, The Punching Bag. No two players get the same one.

House rules we recommend

  • A "drink" is a sip, not a full glass.
  • Anyone can pass on a card by drinking instead. No explanations needed.
  • Soft drinks count. So does water.
