Hot seat questions for a party (and how to play hot seat)
In the hot seat game, one player sits 'in the seat' while the group asks them questions they have to answer honestly, or drink. Below are 60 real Hot Seat cards from Wrecked: guessing games about the player, honest-answer questions and 40-second debates, each with the rule for who drinks.
How the hot seat game works
- Pick who goes first. In Wrecked, the app picks for you and favors whoever has been drinking least.
- The reader asks a question about the player in the seat, or sets up a mini game about them.
- The player answers honestly, or drinks. Many cards flip it around so the group drinks if they guess wrong.
- Next card, next player.

Tips for a better hot seat
- Keep it moving. One question per turn is plenty. Long interrogations kill the energy.
- Involve the table. Questions where the group guesses or votes beat questions where everyone just listens.
- Give an out. Drinking instead of answering is part of the game. Nobody should feel forced to share something they do not want to.
- Spread the seat. If the same person keeps landing in it, switch. The app already balances this for you.

How do you play the hot seat game?

The best hot seat questions involve the whole table, not just the player: the group guesses their answer, votes on whether they are lying, or rates their story. That way everyone is playing, not just watching one person squirm.
Can hot seat be played without drinking?
Yes. Replace each drink with a point, and whoever has the most points at the end does a dare or buys the next round of snacks.
